On June 26, 2025, Misión Kateri Civil Association and the Sonoran Institute of Culture signed an agreement to promote, strengthen, and preserve the cultural heritage of the indigenous groups of our state.

ISC Director Beatriz Aldaco emphasized that this type of agreement represents a combination of institutional efforts and the vision of committed organizations like Misión Kateri , whose work is deeply connected to the communities and to the work of Capuchin Franciscan Father David Beaumont Pfeiffer, who served as an honorary witness.

Father David Beaumont emphasized the importance of teamwork in understanding the sacred nature of the ceremonies, rituals, and dances of indigenous peoples.

The president of Misión Kateri AC, Miguel Epifanio Campoy Burboa, said that the signed agreement will serve to develop a short-, medium-, and long-term work plan that promotes the cultural and spiritual wealth of diverse ethnic groups and invited everyone to keep an eye on the misionkateri.org website.

He also thanked Beatriz Aldaco and her team of collaborators for their willingness to work together to honor the memory and relevance of our roots.

The signing of the agreement held at the Eusebio Francisco Kino Gallery of the Hermosillo Cultural Center was attended by anthropologist Alejandro Aguilar Zeleny and Diana López Montiel, the association's administrator.

The agreement between the ISC and Mision Kateri will allow, among other things, the organization and dissemination of cultural events and intercultural encounters, as well as the documentation of traditions.
