The coloring book titled "St. Kateri Tekakwitha, Pilgrim for Peace" was formally presented in the Yaqui community of Estación Oroz, Sonora, during a ceremony attended by children from this indigenous group.

Father David Beaumont OFM Cap expressed his hope that this publication will raise awareness of the life of St. Kateri, who is the patroness of indigenous peoples, ecology, and migrants.

The book, unveiled on April 17 in conjunction with St. Kateri's Day, features illustrations and information about her life, which spans from her birth in 1656 to her death in 1680, highlighting her role as a promoter of peace.

Additionally, the book includes details about the Sanctuary of St. Kateri located in the traditional territory of the Yoeme Yaquis in Sonora, Mexico, and discusses the pilgrimage for peace that began in Vícam Pueblo with teachers and singers.

This initiative has already reached hundreds of indigenous communities, including the Mayos, Yaquis, Guarijíos, Pimas, and Seris, as well as various cities and towns across the state.

Elisa García, a proud Yaqui woman from the community of Loma de Bácum, emphasized the significance of such publications in understanding the life of St. Kateri, especially during a time of need for her community.
